Foregoing short and commercial songs for epics that run past the 6 minute mark, the album doesn’t feel drawn out and has enough layering to keep you interested throughout. The solos have made a triumphant return and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett actually harmonize on multiple songs.
